Passion Puppets

A cult hit on Canadian radio in the mid-80s, Like Dust was Passion Puppet’s first single and it looked to all intents and purposes that the band were set for greatness.  A five-piece from Camden Town, they grew a great live fanbase, at first supporting Paul Young on his breakthrough solo No Parlez tour and then - complimenting their own music rather more - playing alongside the Psychedelic Furs on their Mirror Moves tour.  But despite all these contributing factors – and three single attempts on Stiff – the band folded not long after the release of their debut album Beyond The Pale.  Lead singer Ray Burmiston, now also a noted rock photographer, is the only member to continue recording, but the band’s presence is felt every now and then, like in 2007 when DJ and producer Lock3Down released a mash-up of Like Dust with The Kooks’ Seaside.
