The Wit And Wisdom of Ronald Reagan

80s-era Stiff could never have been accused of taking life or itself too seriously.  They weren’t afraid of spending a bit of money to make a point either.  Like the full-length album, The Wit And Wisdom Of Ronald Reagan.  Just one listen and you’ll get the joke.

But this was far from the only comic output the label produced, intentionally or otherwise.  There was Dermot Morgan (later to become Father Ted)’s  Thank You Mr Eastwood (BUY 246) in honour of Barry McGuigan, The Cory Band With The Gwalia Singers’s brass take on Jona Lewie’s Stop The Cavalry (BUY 133), Binky Baker’s bizarre stab at a Radio 1 DJ, Toe Knee Black Burn (BUY 41) and The Hon. Nick Jones and Ian MacRae’s freakish cash-in The Ballad of Lady Di (WED 1).
